7:30pm, Wednesday 24th April 2024 - CWRA April meeting (in person)

The meeting will open with a Hustings for candidates standing for Chalkwell ward in the forthcoming elections to Southend City Council.


This will be followed by a longer-than-usual break, during which tea and coffee will be served, and members will have the chance to have individual conversations with candidates in attendance. Time will be allowed at the end of the meeting for any urgent updates and discussion on urgent ward-related matters.


This meeting will take place at Westcliff Baptist Church, 560 London Road, Westcliff-on-Sea. SS0 9HS.



7:30pm, Wednesday 8th May 2024 - CWRA May meeting (in person)

The meeting will open with a talk by Alan Hardiman of Grassroots Westcliff, a local community group dedicated to enhancing our environment through  creating "pocket parks" in previously neglected spots and undertaking regular litter picks.


After an interval, during which tea and coffee will be served, we will hold the association's Annual General Meeting, which is for members only.


The final part of the meeting will update members on ward-related matters and provide a forum to air current issues of local concern. Ward councillors attend on a regular basis, reporting back on ward-related matters and answering questions.

7:30pm, Wednesday 12th June 2024 - CWRA June meeting (online via Zoom)

The meeting will open with a talk by Carla Purkiss on advice charity, Citizens Advice Southend.


The second part of the meeting will update members on ward-related matters and provide a forum to air current issues of local concern. Ward councillors attend on a regular basis, reporting back on ward-related matters and answering questions.

The meeting will open with a talk on the work of Trading Standards in Southend by Richard Layzell, trading standards officer at Southend City Council.


After an interval, during which tea and coffee will be served, the second part of the meeting will update members on ward-related matters and provide a forum to air current issues of local concern. Ward councillors attend on a regular basis, reporting back on ward-related matters and answering questions.
